Wintry Autumn Storm and Other Random Things

When I awoke this morning I almost needed to check the calendar and make sure it was still October 12. That is because when I woke up I saw about six inches of snow outside. I didn't completely go into shock because I was warned by the weather man that we could see snow this weekend. I just didn't think it would be this much nor did I think it would be at my house.

It continued to snow all morning and even the entire time at church when I would walk by a window I would see it was still coming down hard. By the time I got home from church I estimated there was about a foot of snow on my back deck. Tonight's weather report said it was 11 inches, so I guess I was only off by one inch.

Those of you reading this blog that live near me in the Ogden area are know exactly what I'm talking about. September was a bit warmer than usual...enough to feel kind of spoiled. Then suddenly it is as if we skipped over Fall all together and went straight to winter. **groan** Oh well, I tell myself it is like a late spring storm. Hopefully it will melt quickly and we'll get back to fall. Here are some pictures from the snow.

My other random thing: Tonight we went to my parents house for dinner. It was nice and the food was delicious. Just before we left we got the kids pajamas on. Alyssa asked if she could put on some music and dance around the room for a minute. Dancing around the room quickly turns into running back and forth with Ian. But, here's the part that I was really getting a good laugh over. My mom pulled out this old cowboy hat that used to be my brothers (Mindy, remember this, I believe you had one just like it from a trip to Denver.) Anyway, my mom pulled out this hat for Ian since he will probably be a cowboy for Halloween. He was running back and forth with this big hat on, a toy gun tucked into his waistband, all with Spiderman PJ's and dragon slippers. For me at least, this was such a funny sight. Here's a picture or two just in case you can't picture it.

I can't believe how big Ian is. Boys do such silly things, but I suppose girls do to. Very cute! Wasn't the snow crazy?!!! I thought my flowers just might pull through till it cleared off and froze last night. They are done for. We are moving to Perry. I can hardly wait, I'm so ready to go and be done with all the stress and packing and just relax. (ya like that ever happens)

When I first saw these pictures of Ian I had not read what you wrote and I thought he looked a lot like Danny. Then I read that it was Danny's hat, I totally remember those hats, they were awesome. I also remember taking pictures with these hats in my front yard. Good times!
