Missing Picture

Earlier this week I was looking at a framed picture I have of Jason in his dress Army uniform (the same picture that I posted here in May.) I was thinking about how much I like this picture and was considering moving it from my family room to my nightstand.

The next evening I noticed the picture was missing. It isn't uncommon for the kids to move things or for them to knock it off the ledge where it had been. I pulled the couch out and looked around the room but I was unable to find it. I must admit I was quite puzzled because I had just been looking at it the night before.

I figured it would turn up and didn't worry too much about it. Just before heading upstairs I had one more thought, maybe it was in Alyssa's room. As I turned on the light in her room I found it. She had taken it and set it up on her dresser next to her alarm clock, facing her bed.

I was quite touched that she was also fond of this picture and had set it up in her room. The next day I told her that I noticed she had taken that picture of Daddy and put it in her room. She just smiled and said, "Yeah, I didn't have a picture of him in here and I thought I needed one."

She was right. So I guess maybe I need to have another one printed for myself and let her keep the one she so carefully set up in her room.
