Re-Visiting Old Scrapbook Pages

In 2007 when we went on a trip to Disneyland I was so excited to come home and use my new hobby to scrapbook our vacation. I was especially excited to do the pictures of Alyssa meeting all the Disney princesses as this was quite a highlight of that trip.

So, I did just that. I scrapbooked the whole trip right away. I have never really been happy with how I did these princess pages but I was at a loss about how to make them better. Several months ago I spied this new digital scrapbooking kit called "Storybook Princess." It was just what I thought I needed to make these better. So as I wind down my work on my 2007 scrapbook I decided to finally tackle these pages that had been bothering me so much. I am happy with how they have turned out. So...without further ado, here is my before and after:

BEFORE:
Not bad, I know. But something about them just bugged me and I couldn't bear the thought of having 2007 printed into a book and having four pages in there that I just didn't like.

AFTER:

I am much happier with these. I can go on and finish my last pages of 2007 and begin preparations to upload and have them printed. By the way, thanks for your suggestions Jenny. Turning off the computer and getting a good night's sleep combine with your suggestions was just what I needed to get these finished.

In case you can't read the journaling on the last page here it is. This was kind of a funny story that Jason and I were laughing about again tonight when we were reminded of this memory.

"After realizing I didn’t get the video I wanted we decided to go back to the Princess Fantasy Faire the next day. Since this attraction opened an hour later I went straight there to get a place in line while the rest of our group went to ride some rides.

I was second in line. Before me was this man pictured to the left. While we waited I decided to make some small talk with him. I asked him if he was the place holder like I was. He responded by telling me that he wasn’t holding a place for a young girl, but he was there to meet the princesses for himself. Trying not to laugh out loud I kindly responded with something like, “Oh, that’s nice.” Soon after that he pulled out a photo album and started flipping through the pictures of himself with all the different princesses. When the royal pages came to open up the line they greeted him by his first name as if they knew him well. We all had a good laugh."

A little creepy, huh?

They turned out beautiful! It always helps to get some sleep and come back. That story is hilarious! Can't wait to have Lee read it too.
