A surprise for Mommy
No, not the kind of surprise I wrote about in the last post, this time a real surprise. Yesterday while I was at the bridal show the kids were at my parents house. Alyssa likes to get out my dad's scout crafting stuff (beads and leather string.) She called me to say she had a surprise for me. When I got home last night she has this little tiny silver gift bag. I pulled out the tissue paper to find she had made me a necklace of the leather string and red heart beads. When I looked over at her she was smiling from ear to ear and proudly told me she had made me a heart necklace for "Valentimes" day. She made a matching bracelet but it is too small to fit around my wrist. I could see how excited she was at my reaction and of course I gave her a big hug and kiss to say thank you. This morning when I told my mom how excited she was at giving it to me, she mentioned that yesterday Alyssa went upstairs after finishing the necklace to put her shoes on. As my mom came down the hall she could hear Alyssa in the bedroom talking to herself about how excited her mommy would be to receive such a beautiful necklace. This little image brings such a smile to my face. I guess I have to say I will proudly wear this necklace knowing how happy it made her to give it to me.

Wow! I am glad your horrible week is over too! I have had way too many of those....I feel for you! Hope this week is better!
The necklace story is adorable! I am glad you wrote it down because someday it will bring a smile to your face!
My sister-in-law gave me a box with 3x5 cards in it to write things like that down on and then when I'm having a bad day I can pull it out and remember that I really do love these kids who are causing me grief! You need to put that cute story in a place like that.
Also, sorry about your bad week--we had that sickness two days before Christmas then luckily not on Christmas, but then the following 5 days. We should own stock in Clorox wipes...good luck keeping up on the laundry and all of that!
